Heathens AN INTERNET, WESTERN, WEB SERIES. Stripping away the layers of society. Heathens takes place in 1846, one week before Texas joins the Union. In one of the worst droughts in memory, the sweat of lust pours over the men of Freedom, Texas, who exchange their teeth for a nights revelry with a strange savage woman. This sets off a chain of events that leads to violence and killing, and threatens to destroy the town itself. Heathens questions the bounds that tie men and women, and society, together.
The project is both entertaining and has a social commentary. It is a plot driven melodrama with plenty of action, humor, and romance. Its strongest message is simple and to the point: To find truth you have to listen to the hearts of others. The script's main thematic conflict is man versus himself. This struggle allows us to question a serious issue: Is it better to embrace the truth or manipulate it? Also it has a social message that is timeless: Strip away the layers of society and we're all a bunch of heathens.
